One of my coworkers here in the office invited Lisa, Hannah (intern from Canada) and I to visit his hometown, a port city called Nacala. He and his wife and a few others were going to lead a church retreat and we got to come along for the ride! I am so thankful for every opportunity to experience life with Mozambicans, and this was certainly not one to be missed!
On Sunday there was an extended church service dedicated to discussing the role of parents and of children in a Christian family. There was lots of participation from the congregation. One thing in particular that caught my attention was an announcement for the youth group–the denomination was planning their first youth mission trip to Malawi!
After church we drove over to the beach! We didn’t have much time to stay, but it was nice hear the sounds of the ocean and feel the breeze.
It was so great to see the beach and dip my toes in the water!
